Students design quilt patterns in geometry class, and then use those patterns to make quilts in their consumer sciences course.

I know that as  a parent in an age of abundance, I am always looking for ways to teach my child how truly lucky she is.  As I read through this article, I was struck by the comments from students.  They truly understand that they are doing something important and meaningful.

Mrs. Burke deserves much credit for continuing an outstanding program at Longfellow Middle School.
