If you are not familiar with Project Lead The Way, then it would be worth your time to read about it.

This article highlights a school in the Lacrosse district that has implemented PLTW.  It basically takes science and engineering and applies it to real situations, giving a hands-on experience to the students.

This type of realistic learning not only gives students Meaning and Mastery, it also enhances the Symphony aptitude from Dan Pink’s A Whole New Mind.

I am a true believer in project-based, hands-on learning.  I do not think we can prepare our students for the future without involving the outside world.

When you start to do projects like the one mentioned in the La Crosse school district, students begin to put together the pieces and find unique solutions.
