Film raises troubling questions about U.S. students – USATODAY.com

If you have not seen the documentary “2 Million Minutes” I would recommend you make an effort to do so.  It is a startling account of how high school students from different countries take advantage of the 2 million minutes that make up our high school experience.

When I viewed it with students they were defensive.  Things like “This is just another video about how we’re stupid” or “The stuff they said is so untrue” were the average responses from students.  But who can blame them?  They feel as if they are constantly being attacked.  To be honest, it’s not all their responsibility or doing.  Previous generations have got to step up and take responsibility for their roles.  Who set up this world that Gen-Y is inheriting?
